Oliver Twist comes to Hull Truck

This year, Hull Truck Theatre celebrate the festive season by bringing the magic of Oliver Twist into their home on Ferensway.

After the immensely successful Christmas production of A Christmas Carol, a fresh version of the classic Christmas ghost story that attracted no fewer than 20,217 visitors, Hull Truck Theatre is delighted to present its new collaboration with playwright Deborah McAndrew. Directed by Hull Truck Theatre’s artistic director Mark Babych, Oliver Twist is a cheerful celebration of Christmas that combines traditional carols, folk songs and original music.

Join young, orphaned Oliver Twist on a wild adventure in this original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ much-loved novel. Born in a workhouse. Sold into an apprenticeship. Recruited by Fagin’s band of pickpockets and thieves. We follow Oliver as he sinks into London’s grimy underworld on his search for a home, a family and love.

The production’s talented cast includes Flo Wilson, Claire Storey, Oghenekevwe Emefe, Lauryn Redding, Ian Jervis, Patrick Bridgman, and Samuel Edward-Cook.

The professional company will be joined by two teams of young talents drawn from our Youth Theatre and the Northern Academy of Performing Arts.

The production will run between Friday 30 November 2018 and Saturday 5 January 2019.

Recommended age 7+

Ticket prices range from £10 to £26.
